Forward As One CE Academy Trust

Love, Hope, Respect, Trust, Thankfulness One Team, One Mission, One Family

Welcome to St. Peter's Smithills Dean CE Primary School

We are a Church of England, voluntary aided school, for 4- to 11-year-old children in the parish of St Peter’s Halliwell, and a proud member of the Forward as One CE Multi Academy Trust.

Our school mission statement is Let Your Light Shine’ based on Matthew 5 v16. At St Peter’s we want all our children to shine in whatever they do. We do this in many different ways, but one key way is by following the example, values and teaching of Jesus Christ, who teaches us to love one another, as he has loved us, and reminding us that he has come to bring us all life to the full! That’s what we want for everyone at St Peter’s – children, staff, parents and governors. We are a happy school full of life and joy!

Please have a good look at our website to see all we are about and do contact us if you have any questions.

  • St. Peter's is a happy place where children feel safe and secure, in a learning environment that effectively caters for the learning needs of the children.       Parent Survey (March 2023)
  • Pupils’ behaviour and rates of attendance are strong features of the school. Pupils, and children in the early years, understand the behaviour system. Disruption to learning is rare. Most pupils work hard and concentrate on their learning in lessons. Pupils and children play well together. They enjoy using the selection of playtime equipment provided. Parents were overwhelmingly positive about the experiences that their children have at school.      OFSTED (October 2022)
  • ‘I’ve been here for seven years, and I’ve never been bored once!’     Y6 pupil (January 2023)
  • As a parent, you can see and sense the merit of our Christian values  through everything, not least through my son's attitude and confidence, and how well they're driven through the school. I genuinely feel so privileged my boy is here and taught so well. You all seem to invest so much in our children.
